Barcelona and culture

That has more to do about history than anything else. Those pictures are of the old city wall and the cheap, crap job they did at building in an additional area for the cathedral. I quite like the aqueduct which you undoubtedly saw sticking out of the wall as you walk up to the right of the cathedral. You can find traces of that throughout the town and Portal de l'Angel / Passeig de Gracia essentially recreate the old Roman aqueduct path from 2,000 years ago, which is pretty cool.

I don't know if you're still there, but the City Museum is quite cool and definitely worth a few hours. But, I could go on and on about that town. It's my most loved second home these days.

Hope the capital of Catalonia has treated you well.
